Mortgage Interest Rates Hit Historical Lows … AgainMost home buyers are thinking, “so what!” Interest rates have been crazy low for many years now, and the sizzle has worn off. If rates hit zero, I don’t think it would create as much fever as the first time we saw them dip below 6% many years ago.

Pennsylvania Class Action Lawsuit Against Commonwealth Title Insurance Moves Forward

The law firm representing members of a class action against Commonwealth Land Title in Pennsylvania made public announcement of the lawsuit yesterday. The lawsuit alleges that Commonwealth charged Pennsylvania homeowners a full rate for refinance and reissue title insurance policies for which the homeowners were entitled to a discount.The class action, A.D. Alberton and Mark C. Kessler v. Commonwealth Land Title, was conditionally approved by a Pennsylvania court in 2008, and final approval to send out notice to class members was given by the court this March. Eligible members of the class action will automatically be a party to the lawsuit, but may choose to opt out.

Troy Ott’s Real Estate Blog: REG-X FAQ’s

If the aggregate fees subject to the 10% tolerance increase more than 10%, will the bank be responsible for paying the amount above 10% or the entire amount including the 10%? (For example: if fees increased by 15% in the aggregate, will the bank pay the full 15% that exceeds the amount disclosed or only the 5% that is in excess of the 10% tolerance?)
